In 2021 The Dutch Ministry of Education, Science and Culture started a 5 year program to improve the state of information services and information management in all federal governmental organisations. One year earlier the highest body of control in the Dutch political system concluded that the Dutch federal government was no longer able to fulfil its duties to the Dutch civilians because of the poor state of the information management. One of the conclusions from the enquiry was that within the Dutch government the competency level of the information professionals was substandard as were the information systems and technical infrastructure. Harsh conclusions that required serious measurements. As a prove of urgency the government allocated a budget of € 780.000.000,-.

A big part of the budget was allocated a special project called ‘Future Lab’, aimed at innovation in information services and information management, had to prepare the information professionals for the future.
One of the products of the ‘Future Lab’ is a set of future roles and new job titles. The goal of these new jobs is to launch the information professional and his added value into the ‘data era’.

In this workshop the participants will learn more about the competences of the Information Professional of 2030 and how to acquire them. Learn how to prepare yourself for the near future!
